The sun came out some time around lunch time and made things look much better and less apocalyptical in nature. The afternoon didn’t bring any clarity or definitive answers for us. The administration and the supervisors had asked us to update our contact information including phone numbers they can reach us “Just in case”. By the time we left I was convinced just by the tone of one email that we would not be closing and those of us who couldn’t work from home would be coming in. I swore that if I was wrong I would buy pizza for everyone.
When I left the thermostat in the car read 67 degrees and pretty much stayed that way all the way home. Traffic was very light for a Friday evening. I was home by 4:30.
Neighbor Sean was taking the opportunity to wash his car while others were just getting home. The marsh outback was pretty full from the rain (and I am guessing the full moon the last few days)
AS soon as I got in the house I got some kitty loving going and got settled in and opened the windows and let some air in. It felt great. AS usual the window at the foot of the stairs gave me trouble. It’s a fairly new window but it seems to be stuck. Around 7 I started closing the windows. As it was getting chilly as the sun began to drop.
Since I have been home I fed the cats, took a nap, chatted with Liz again. She was surprised I would be going to the gym again. Many of her friends have stopped going until this thing passes. Its nearly 8 now and I haven’t made any attempt to go. There is about an hour until they close.
I have been working on an email to Becca in FL and will work on it for a while and the other files as well. To be honest I am glad we are still working because then I can print out the letters at work.
The city released
a message tonight with information of what is opened and closed (the libraries), parks, and encouraging residents to do business with the city via technology. I think schools are still closed.
I have been receiving email alerts and updates from Walgreen’s, and a variety of restaurants, stores, and services offering advice during the pandemic. Honestly If I read or hear how to wash your hands one more time I may scream.
I have decided to not go to the card game tomorrow afternoon. I think I’m the third person to back out. I am probably going to do grocery shop and get some stuff done in the attic or even around the house.
Well I think I will take a cue from Sky and get ready to sleep. I have been tired. I am hoping the decaf will not keep me up…
