Been Crazy
Sorry for the disappearance its been fairly hectic after my 3 day weekend. I have been focus
ing on scanning and maybe doing the mail once this week. I didn’t realize just how low morale was lately until I notice two colleagues spending a lot of time in my scanning room behind the door. One was a union steward the other someone I consider a friend. Apparently she was brought in for job related issues and she had what is being said a melt down and scared the living daylights out of the Supervisor which in turn caused him to inform the team that in the future when anyone needs to be brought in for “whatever” there will be witnesses. Which is technically in our contract anyway. He was blindsighted and everyone agreed. He is such a great supervisor and his demeanor easy going and I am saddened that this could change things down the road. I did say something along the lines of I was sorry to hear this happened and reassured him he would never have to worry about that with me. I also peppered with acknowledging I may have been out of line.
I later on in the day talked with my colleague DK about it and she said I wasn’t supposed to say anything. I made her swear not to say anything but she did recommend I say something to EH. Although before I left the office JT told me everything and she is pretty angry. I kept telling her to stop and encouraged her to learn from it. She says this has been ongoing for a long time.
AT the same this only adds to the stress in the office after the previous incident earlier this month. That one has been dealt with for now. I think. No one will be losing their job.
Then of course the small group of people that have severe issues with Gargoyle/GA with her activities. From what I was told to me she will be reminded to be more professional. She will be going on vacation starting Monday and returning two weeks later. This will only go on for so long as she will fall back into old habits. OF course (and knock on wood) things between us have been smooth going for now. THat could change down the road.
We received our weekly update on the move earlier this week and it has several of us in a panic. It was about navigating the shuttle system for 2 SP and CSS South. I sent it to Siduri and await what she thinks of it. They recommend if we come in from W. Campus then once the Purple line drops us off we walk to the other stop and pick up a Red Line and that would take us to our final destination-but rather late. Some of us are sending emails to certain people to get them to reconsider that idea. I have yet to send mine.
The weather has been great. It rained maybe twice this week. Earlier in the week and yesterday with a thunderstorm Saturday. It's been in the 80’s and 90’s and not much humidity until Saturday. Sunday started off beautifully and continued despite the predicted rain. Next week is going to be raining most of the week. Will make the 4th of July holiday wet. May make my appointments a little wet too.
I am still making sporadic visits to the gym. I was there Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday (and worked my butt off that day) and Sunday. The food tracking is still written on my appointment book. I was pretty truthful with A about it too. I have to be. We had a great discussion about it too. I did make a point of walking on Friday. I didn’t walk on Wednesday. I probably will after Bingo on Sunday. The end of the challenge is in two weeks maybe depending on Corporate. The final weigh in was Saturday. I hope i lose more before the party.
The DTC Summer activities have started. A week ago friday was the 4th district meeting and during that meeting several of us got an email from TM (someone I haven't mentioned in a long time nor do I want to) who was away on family business but had the time to ask questions regarding the May meeting minutes i had just sent out that day. She also sent me “housekeeping email”. Basically she said there seemed to be different emails being used..None of her business. She also sent copies to the DTC chairman. My district chairman told me not to answer so I haven’t. I had sent the email via Google docs and shared them instead of attaching and then going through the list of names. She offered her assistance on this matter. She needs to mind her own damn business and if she wants to know details she needs to get her damn ass to the meetings.
So the June minutes were sent out last Thursday. I made sure it was “fully detailed”. I don’t want nor need to make a book of these damn minutes. She needs to show up at meetings (4th district ones in particular) and be polite during them. I can’t begin to tell you how rude she can be. Although I am certain she will tell me how to write things up.
I don’t know how she will react to the news that the July and August meetings are going to be cancelled this year due to a convention and attendance. The annual local convention is this month and we decided that we would make that our meeting. It was suggested at the meeting that we cancel the meetings for the summer this year due to people’s vacations and activities. That may not go over too well. If something comes up then we will get emails. We will start up in September again.
Saturday night was the town’s kick off to summer event and the DTC was among the many to have food tents there. I was contemplating going but I was tired, hot, and the weather wasn’t going to be that great so I bailed. I also figured it would be a trigger to eat badly.
The ladies guild has been quiet but we have a meeting in August to finalize activities for the upcoming year. I am looking forward to it.
Last week went to the coffee talk activity for the Finding friends meetup and met someone who retired from Yale. We had some time to talk about working for yale. It was great. One of the other members Niry shared that her Hunter (a Rotty) is very sick and not long for this world. We had a great discussion about pets and just how far would we go to make them comfortable.
The Activity that was scheduled for Saturday for the Finding friends was cancelled it will be rescheduled for another time. I am hoping it will be soon. The dinner activities haven’t been planned yet.
The Hiking with Friends meetups have had a few activities but i haven’t had been able to attend because of the starting time. They start at 5 pm and It is an hour away. I would be late.
The Women’s Outdoor Connecticut Meetup have things outside of Connecticut and i just can’t seem to go to them. This is becoming a nuisance to me. Maybe one day I can.
The others are quiet for now.
The family is going well. SIL has been in Manila. I am not sure how long she will be there. The kids are doing well according to their posts from FB. DVP-D has been performing locally in theater and Traveling with hubby. J is surviving day to day. R just celebrated his birthday.
Spoke with Big Brother last night. Basically about weather. I couldn’t talk long he was setting up for a meeting. We continue to chat via text. I told him about the animal sightings, and he told me about his photography class. The kids seem fine.
Spoke with Sis via text. She and N should be coming home from a Wedding later today. They have been there since Thursday. She has been moving slowly she says. Taking care of her health Spoke to her DIL via im and everyone is good. J & A are with their family in Europe. Aw man I hope they are having a great time.
My extended family seems to be doing well according to their FB posts. However, I think it would be prudent to either write some notes or emails to them and see for myself.
