It is the first weekend of the summer. It is starting off wonderfully but there is rain coming later today and tomorrow. The temps are supposed to be in the 60s. I don’t know about Sunday but as usual it could change.
For the last couple of days, I have been taking the shuttle in from West Campus and it is awesome. I was given apps to use to check on stuff and how long it will be. It is relaxing and I get an opportunity to meet other coworkers from the med school or vicinity. I will need to cancel my parking sometime next week as I don’t want to pay for it if I am not using it. If needed I will do it on as needed basis (for appointments in Hamden). The only thing is I will have to leave the house before seven to make sure I get the morning shuttle.
Work busy. Hit a couple of snags with the scanning but once it was shown to me (had to update my password) it was fine. It just took longer than I planned. It usually does. There was a baby shower for a coworker but I couldn’t get to it. I couldn’t contribute and the scanning took too long.
There is a new crepe restaurant that opened near the office. Its busy right now and hopefully I will get a chance to go there. I seriously doubt it though.
Tonight, I have the Annual Democratic Awards Dinner and I am looking forward to it. There will be many awards given out to those who have been community service oriented. It is being held at Great River Country Club in town. I may have mentioned I was only on the grounds for community service activity with my woman’s club but I did go there recently to pick up things for the scholarship presentation. It is beautiful.
Talked with Liz yesterday and her vascular surgery has been delayed and will be revaluated in September. She is conflicted by this. On one hand she wasn’t looking forward to the amount of time she would be in the hospital but she doesn’t want to be in pain. Her Daughter-in-law’s Step Mom passed away earlier in the week. Sad time.
