Flashback roundup....
Wednesday night I just chilled at home, Thursday I cleaned the house and cranked on the AC, went out for the night/Friday morning(had a great time!!!), came home and got showered and ready for Flashback. I made it to the hotel on time, got some cash from the machine and found 2 of my brother's friends just behind me so we hung out while waiting to get in. Max joined us a short while later and we got immediately into the George Romero line. George was totally cool! Browsed the vendor's room the rest of the day-I got a Winchester Tavern pint glass, a 'zombie hunter university 666' tshirt, and a cute/badass skull/crossbones purse. We hung out in the smoking area with some way cool ppl the rest of the evening after a few drinks in the bar(yay appletinis!) and skipped the movies that had been moved indoors for the evening. Went to my house to christen the pint glasses(Max got one too)before going to sleep around 4 am.
Rough morning, but coffee helped. We met back up at the hotel around 2 to do makeup for the costume contest-Max was the Joker and his friend Krystal was Harley Quinn-they looked great, but lost to some guy in a Planet of the Apes suit and a family dressed as red riding hood, the wolf, and the woodsman all bloodied up. The zombie girl scout deserved to place though-she was good. Ppl took pics with Joker and Harley all day. We ran across the street to WizardWorld comicon for a bit but couldnt get in-we did take pics with someone dressed as Harley there though-she looked great-just like the cartoon. Next year I'm volunteering at WizardWorld again-that way I can go to both 'cons. I brought a postcard from when I street teamed for Bubba Ho-Tep to be signed by Don Costarelli, the director of that and Phantasm. He asked where the postcard was from and I told him I street teamed for it and he thanked me for like 10 minutes-he was so sweet! We hung out with ppl at Flashback the rest of the weekend. Skipped the movies, which had been moved indoors yet again due to winds. I came home early and got some sleep.
Met up with Max and Frank in the morning there and we all walked around awhile waiting for a panel and George's final signing. Met a really supercool lady from www.cyphrevoudou.com . Left Flashback around 3, decided not to go to Pride(this is the first time I've missed it in years and that sucked), went home for a nap and to chill in the quietude of my home(conventions are soooo noisy!).
I also got a "Badazz Zombie Killah" tshirt, a bracelet made of stone with bone inlay of skulls and crossbones, and an absinthe sachet/candle! Good thing we got those Winchester glasses Friday because by 3 Saturday they were sold out.
I texted Jim to see if he'd been to the WizardWorld con to meet his fave writer, Warren Ellis, but he hadn't. I told him there was mail here for him to pick up, so he stopped by. We had a drink and he was gone after about 30-45 minutes. He wants to hang out next Satuday but I'm pretty sure I'll be busy what with it being a holiday weekend and all. That and I don't want to hang out jsut yet. Maybe in a month or so, but not just yet. I realized also last night that I didn't miss him the way I miss other ppl when I don't see them for a couple weeks(for instance, right now I'm listening to Weezer's green album, the songs "Smile" & "Don't Let Go" in particular-this has absolutely nothing to do with Jim whatsoever!). :)
I cleaned the bathroom walls and ceiling today(I still need to bleach them too to get those pesky mold spots forming in the corners-I take wayyyy too steamy showers I swear!). I was going to do the kitchen too but my shoulders are so sore just from doing the bathroom! I still have dishes to do too and maybe some laundry, but I'll be at my desk the next 3 days at work, so I'll have extra energy when I get home to burn off, so I'll jsut do it then. I sooooooo need a shoulder/neck rub right now it's not even funny.
