Just in case any of you were wondering about why I was so freaked out yesterday: There were a series of terrorist bombings in London yesterday, 27 confirmed dead, 700 casualties, and corpses still in the London Underground. My parents went in the morning before I got up to meet with some people who had visited us and were departing from London. It fucking freaked me out, I couldn't get through on their cell phones and they would have been travelling on the tube about the time of the attacks. About 12 my mom called, leaving London in the car, saying she and Dad were ok, but Dad was still in London. My Dad was very lucky, he chose to take another line to get to Heathrow, had he chose the other line, he likely would have been on the train (one of many) bombed. Another one of our visitors was beyond lucky, she was on the train in front of one of the bombed trains; she escaped by 3 minutes. He returned about 1am this morning, only just able to get back. Kings X was, evidently, abondoned, he saw only 1 other person. I can't make a comparison, but I have been at King's X at all times of the day and have never seen it anything but packed. These attacks have obviously scared the Londoners. London was, thank god, prepared for the attacks; as prepared as they could have been. There were 700 casualties, 27 confirmed dead, 80 remain in hospital, 4 of whom are in an extremely critical condition, and saddest of all, still bodies trapped in the London Underground. I don't believe in God, I do believe in a higher power, and I hope all of you pray, to whatever you believe in, even if it is nothing, for all of the people affected. I have realized that 9/11 was not an attack on the US. It was not an attack on our money and arrogance, it was an attack on Christianity. Al-Quieda is not fighting overly rich countries, they are fighting Christains. I hope you in the US realize that you are not alone in this war, Madrid and London certainly share our centiments and I hope that all of you start to think of Europe and the US as united, and no longer as "those dirty French and English...." They are suffering just the same as we are. Please, please pray for all the people affected by the bombings. And don't forget Africa too. Do something people, you have no idea what kind of huge difference you can make.
