My LYS (that's local yarn store, for those of you who aren't hip to the knitting lingo) bought up a whole bunch of Anne Schaefer sock yarn in four political-themed colorways: Michelle, Hillary, Cindy, and Sarah (they name their yarns after famous women). I think, in addition to dogs and cats, hospitals should bring in yarn to bring up patient's spirits. Think about it - what's better than rubbing some lovely alpaca on your cheek, or immersing both hands into a basket of dk-weight silk? I feel like much of my life is spent on the fringe. I listen to music no one's heard of, I spend an inordinate amount of time knitting, and I call myself a fan of various media properties.
