I Cannot Be Stopped... much in the way an object at rest cannont be stopped.

My weekend went fairly well. I got a chance to hang out with Dimitri Saturday night. We watched some episodes of The Tick and a few of Animaniacs. I particuarly enjoyed a line in an episode of The Tick where the villian states most emphatically: "An object at rest cannont be stopped!"

Charles and I managed to get to the gym on Saturday and watch all of Planet Earth on Sunday. I am really enjoying my mothers Tivo and east-coast-time-getting satellite. Im excited that I get to watch Planet Earth at 5pm instead of 8pm. God im turning into an old lady.

I got my 3% yearly raise today which is nice. I went ahead and made sure my 401k contributions matched the highest my work would give so we'll see if I get any extra monies in the actual paycheck. Work is going to be slow while my boss writes up his report on a project that has been going for like two years. Luckly I have some vacation time next week and I've already implied that I might take an extra day as a "sick day" if nothin much was going on at work. He said I may be asked to help other people. Here's hoping, as the internet can only provide so much entertainment.

I picked up two neat books today at lunch: "The Wall Street Journal Complete Money and Investing Guidebook" and "Fly Solo: The 50 Best Places on Earth for a Girl to Travel Alone." The first I had wanted to get after I finished "The Wall Street Journal Complete Guide to Personal Finances," and the second I radomly spotted when trying to look for "1000 Places to See Before You Die." It seems neat and I've already learned that Id like to visit Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. We'll just put that on the list somewhere past Peru, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, New York, Bhutan, Austrailia and South Africa...

... Tho perhaps I can see it on the same trip with Egypt, Petra (Jordan) and some other parts of Africa.

Now all I have to do is double or triple my income while only working 6 months out of the year...

travel, work, money, books, mischif, rambling, alaska, finances
