I agree that Batman would not only not condone Slade's actions with Rose, he wouldn't understand them. These stories [though they are really all one story, neh?] have served to remind me, as 'Deathstroke's World Tour' did with Slade, that Bruce Wayne is a man, with a heart. A man who cares far too much. He is not capable of the same things that Slade is, because he is a different kind of man. He didn't just not trust Diana after the death of Maxwell Lord... he felt that he didn't know her anymore. In the middle of the end of the world, he takes a moment to ask Dick to remind him if there had been any good times, any simpler times... and he cries when Brother Eye taunts him with Dick's seemingly inevitable demise.

After all, Bruce pulled ROBIN 116-120, which is a bigger mindfuck of a loyal soldier than anything Slade ever did.
