But I'm being rapidly seduced into Deathstroke/Nightwing as well, which I never thought would happen because I thought that the age difference would be too much. Now though, with DG's interview read and contemplated, and what I've seen of them in canon, it really works as well.
Honestly, I thought I'd only want to see Deathstroke and Bruce get pissed at each other in the cartoon; now I really want to see the reaction Bruce'll have.
As for the women in Dick's life... I don't see the passion there. I just. I don't. Admittingly, I've not seen that much of Oracle and Dick together, so I don't have all the pieces there, but there is, as you mentioned, a huge amount of subtext to be read in the whole innocence lost and the like. Babs and Dick would probably be good for each other, if Dick could get over his major issues. He's probably one of the few men she's going to met who cares so little about her paralysis and he needs something like her straightforward commonsense to kick him out of angstmode. But Babs seems to realize that she's not the person to keep Dick together and furthermore, that she doesn't have *time* for it with everything else Oracle has going on, and he seems to have more clung to her to have someone, anyone, rather than for Babs' sake.
I'll stick with my slash. Though, if you could sometime, could you list out your reasons for the Dick/Tim love? Because I've always seen them as completely platonic, very brotherly (okay, perhaps Tim might want something more at times) and I'm really curious about it.

*snicker* I keep pimping this, but apparently Slade has canonically beaten Batman in fights. Two out of three, IIRC and my source was accurate.
And yeah, Babs/Dick is probably the only het relationship that I could stomach. But I agree with what you said, and stick to what I said, about it more a childhod thing. They've outgrown each other.
Certainly I will. I've always read Dick as having an older-brother interest in Tim, not actually wanting him. But Tim? Totally wants Dick, and is never ever ever going to say it. If, however, Dick thought that he was going to lose Tim? I think he'd pull every trick in the book to keep him, including sex. Which is why I only see this starting under circumstances of 'OMG I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!!!'. But not out of the blue, suddenly-I-want-you. That I doubt would happen. Although it would be interesting to see what Dick would do if Tim hit on him...

I'm not at all interested in Babs/Dick, unless it brought to light all the twistedness they both have within themselves. Babs as a character interests me; I like strong, smart women and she seems like there's a venir of wholesomeness, and under it a layer of pure black steel. But Babs/Dick just doesn't do much for me. Maybe it's the stereotypical nature of it; I've never been much one for pairings that scream out how obvious there are.
I can easily see onesided Tim/Dick, but Dick/Tim has been harder for me to swallow. Although, if you have linkage to any fic that fits what you've described above, I'd be quite fascinated by it. :D
I could see Dick reacting, if one or both thought the other was dead and Tim kissed Dick once they'd discovered their error. But unless it were something like that... I mean, I could see Dick using sex as a tool to keep Tim with him, but that's a much darker, dirtier version of what's currently happening and I think doing so would probably break something inside Dick that couldn't be easily repaired.
Yay, undercover!prostitute!Dickfic! Dickfic is like Basken Robbins ice cream: thirty-one flavors and all of them excellent.

I think so. Detective Comics 710 and one of the Deathstroke comics. I think they may also have fought in a Batman-specific comic, where Slade lost.

The Dick/Tim? Inkblots by rubynye (http://www.livejournal.com/users/rubynye/128546.html) is the best one I've found that matches the situation in question, but sadly it is not worksafe. NC-17 boysmut and all.
And I agree. I don't object to Dick cracked or chipped, I kind of like it, but broken? That's a bit much.

You said it perfectly, re: broken!Dick. I like Dick just as I like all my favorite characters: struggling but defiant, put upon and perhaps even bending under the pressure, but definately not breaking from it. I love fic where characters are taken to their absolute limits, but actually breaking them, completely breaking them.. It's a bit beyond me.
