Quite a few people who live in my town have asked me about this today, so I guess I'll clear it up here. The BBC are filming a new drama in my street. It's about three sisters who live on the same street where a murder and a gas explosion take place. There's currently an empty house on my street, so they blew out the windows and staged an explosion, hence the fire engine and closed off streets today.
As the front of my house is being used as one of the homes of the sisters, they've re-done our garden. It looks vile, but they'll fix it afterwards, and we're being paid.
