On Top Of The World...
So, I know it's highly unlike me to Geek Out about work-related stuff ... oh wait, it's TOTALLY like me!
Whee! Here we go:
So, today we had this uber-important conference call at work since we are upgrading our systems this Saturday (yay, extra hours.) and I brought up this idea I'd been working on, thinking maybe my bosses would be like "Thanks, but no, thanks." but instead I got totally commended for my "initiative" and "creativity" and got myself my own little project of synchronizing our three websites and coordinating all corresponding PO's... My boss even said "That's the attitude that will get you far with us."
I'm totally happy right now, as geeky as that may be. A lot of people (mainly my cousin Diana LOL) have asked me why don't I just go to another job that pays me more and stuff and this is the kind of thing that makes me not wanna leave here. I've made more money in other places by doing a lot less than what I do now (mainly filing and being on myspace LOL) but I have never felt as FULFILLED as I do working in my little office. I feel appreciated and like my opinion matters and like what I do here actually affects my company.
That's worth way more than money.
