random update is random, as per usual lately
The second auction!fic wants to become multi-chapter at this point but I probably won't let it (granted, i've written 40 page long single scenes for Ashley and Henry, lol). I think it'll be very good, though.
There is another board game day tomorrow in Macedonia and I'm going. Alone since Heather has work and a conference to prep for. It's kind of pitiful what a huge step this is for me but I'm doing it (bringing my last valium but doing it come hades or high water -- man am i terrified, too). I'll take notes but I expect to get badly spanked even on games I've done before if I play any of those.
Sanctuary's been on SyFy all day and "The guy who invented radio just dissed Jack the Ripper" being delivered by Will in a completely casual fashion cracks me up as much now as it did the first time I saw that scene. (on a somewhat related note, Watson and Druitt were so going at it back in the day and Will's face in the sitting room just screams "Okay, so I was wrong to start flame wars with people for slashing Holmes...")
Also, the PTB suck for killing off Watson and I much prefer the game!verse where he's alive and well and shagging Will senseless (even if poor Will's go the whole "zomg, he's going to turn into another DRUITT now!!!" thing going on still -- but they're going out on a date soon which is just too precious). Those two, though. How Watson bandaging Will's bloodied wrist can degenerate into sex but a stint in the hot tub fails to (dr-jwatson.livejournal.com/2409.html) is beyond me but I find them uniformly precious. I'm actually going to insert a little rant against the PTB/rambling stream-of-consciousness... THING here:
Ashley was treated terribly and Emilie was treated WORSE. I could rage for hours on this subject but won't. I read the sweetest interview with Emilie a couple weeks ago, too, and she is SUCH a sweet and loving and accepting young woman. I'd really love to see more of her in 3. Also hoping to see more of Watson in 3 even if it's only in flashbacks. I must know more about his past with Magnus and Druitt (since, let's face it, Watson/Will is a pipedream outside of AU role-play). Will has terrible taste in women (hey, I said it was stream-of-consciousness). Meg seemed okay but season 1 Clara was just about the worst choice in mates EVUH (she grew up and became actually likable in season 2 but look how THAT ended *head!desk*). I mean, seriously, Magnus is a perfect example even though they're not involved.
For future reference, Will, don't move in with women who hit you with their cars, go all strangers with candy on you a couple hours later, and whose men-folk have an unforunately habit of getting psychotic and/or dead. Just sayin'...

Board game day tomorrow, as I said. SOOOOO nervous but I went to the ATM tonight and everything so I'm ready. Cell phone and GPS are charged and I have cash if I need it so zero excuses to not go.
Monday's Quis Custodiet snippet will introduce Serina in all her red-hot moral ambiguity *dances* I already wrote AJ's intro scene, too, which is just painful for her and Nettles because magic users really run into problems when they touch each other's bare skin but they're so rare that not many know this about them (Nettles and AJ were not aware that they were both magic users when they tried to shake hands). Nettles is currently quite annoyed by magical feedback loops (especially since AJ is both gorgeous and a really sweet woman) and by the fact that I'm already turning him into a woobie, but watching Serina do the CSI bit should cheer him up. I wouldn't dream of going so far as to call them kindred spirits of any kind but they both love mental puzzles so they should play off of each other wonderfully (until Nettles realizes Serina's trying to bottle magic in her basement). I'm all excited over this :D
The walnut pie craving continues *sighs* I really don't need that much sugar and fat so I'm trying to eat a few handfuls of nuts every day to take the edge off the craving. With luck I'm just craving some kind of trace elements found in nuts rather than craving honey and nuts and butter and spice *drools and tries to distract her own attention*
I got sick of constantly misplacing my mailbox key, so I made a string to keep it on:
unakite and smoked horn... but it'll at least make it more difficult to lose the damned thing than when it was on a piece of twine
okay, so that's all I can think to say right now except that i'm dead tired and got zero RP done today and didn't get through much email, either (which means I'm behind on my flist) ... will try to get caught back up tomorrow when I get home
