1. What got you hooked on Sanctuary (and don't say it was Will's six pack) ;p
*giggle!snort* I was not a huge Will fan at first and when I’m not a fan of a character, their physical charms tend to be lost on me.
I started watching mainly for the FX. The way it was being advertised seriously had me expecting a shiny but stupid show that substituted sex and CGI for plot and characterization. Happily, I was wrong. I knew from “feminine like a crate of uzis?” that the writing was going to at least keep me entertained. But it also quickly because apparent that the relationships were these deep, complicated, real things. I don’t mean the ships, either. I mean Henry teasing Ashley, Magnus telling Ashley to behave herself in front of the company, Henry giving Magnus grief over the new guy’s on the job training. That was just all so fun and loving and as true to life as relationships in a show like that can be. Especially at the end of episode two when Will was already clearly in absolute awe of Magnus but still yelled at her and called her on lying to him. That just felt so real to me that the relationships weren’t all sappy and completely smooth. And I just loved that.
2. Do you have plans to go back to school again? If so, what would you study?
I’ve been dreaming of it for awhile. It scares the crap out of me, though, for various reasons revolving around the fact that my family perceives me as having a habit of avoiding “real life” and because the idea of daring and failing (again) is several kinds of terrifying.
But I’d love to finish a graduate degree in psychology or anthropology and teach and research for the rest of my natural life. Nothing would be cooler.
3. What is one thing that never fails to make you giggle?
Thank the gods for the “tmi” tag. Naked, fully aroused men. Not that I have a thing against them but the sight induces a giggle-fit every time.
4. If you could have any job for a day, what would it be?
One of those think-tank people who comes up with worst-case-scenarios for the government. That crap is seriously like writing speculative fiction or science fiction for a living and that’d kind of rock :)
5. What is one thing in your life you wouldn’t change for anything?
My beautiful and brilliant nieces, totally. The fact that one of them has the scum of the earth for a sperm donor aside, those little ladies are something else entirely and I love them and am proud of them beyond words
