The girls had a great time and, honestly, other than making myself a little sick from eating way more rich food than I should have, so did I. And, in my own defense, you've got to love pumpkin pie where the recipe starts "pick pumpkin and let sit for 2 months. cut pumpkin in half and bake pieces at 350 degrees..." Honestly, though, it was the mashed potatoes that did me in. It always is, lol. home grown potatoes, organic whole unpasteurized milk, real butter *dies*
all righty, pictures of Christmas at the farm:
Doc enjoying his Christmas din-din (Eric visited the butcher a few days before Christmas and Doc for a yummy joint to nom on)

He is a very well-behaved dog. I had this cookie sitting on my knee for ten minutes before I realized it was why he was sitting there staring longingly at me. *pets him* I gave it to him since breakfast was home-made cinnamon rolls and I didn't need more nutty, spicy goodness. But he knew better than to take it without permission and that's impressive, imo. They have him well-trained.

The coolest adult gift of the morning. We had a $10 limit for grownups, so had to go creative. Heather spent $8 on a scrabble set and made this wall hanging for Helene (and, obviously, for Barton, Ashley, and Ellie):

now onto the stuff I made for people
Spider always wonders what's so special about the weird things I create and take pictures of
Heather's necklace. I wanted something simple and earthy that she could wear out or while working -- doesn't hang down far so can't get snagged easily (it's a small display board; on a person it fits like a choker) and is just made of glass:

Helene's beach necklace. She always wears jewelry but feels weird wearing it to the beach since it never seems appropriate. And, of course, in Hawai'i puka shell necklaces are everywhere and just look touristy. Shells and brown pearls:

Ashley got a chain bracelet (and cash since she's flying to Germany this summer to visit her friends there and europe is expensive). It was a tedious pain in the wrist, but I was pretty pleased with how it turned out:

Ellie got a piece inspired by a frozen waterfall near here:

I bought Eric good coffee and Bart got a $40 razor that I bought with a $30-off coupon (it was still within the $10 limit, lol). I also sold two necklaces to my aunt (she gave them to her daughter and daughter-in-law). I felt a little constrained since she wanted them to have the same pendants, but I managed to make them individual. One is more traditional and (I hope) elegant looking and the other has whimsical shapes and a mood bead that rests against the neck.

And that's about all I have at the moment. Will post pictures of the latest chain project when it's a little more done
