how to shock walmart customers

I went to work on my day off (I was therefore wearing jeans and a pastel shirt instead of khakis and a navy blue scrub top) to pick up flea collars for the kitties and I decided to check out in Lawn and Garden since it's usually less crowded and not as noisy. It was crowded since it's a gorgeous day but fairly quiet anyway, at least compared to the front end.

As I'm checking out, one of the Support Managers calls across the department (in front of six other employees and easily a dozen customers) "Oh, hey, Kat. I didn't recognize you with your clothes on."

Being me, I naturally answered with a loud, "Supervisors never do, hon." which made her choke and the customers just kind of gape. So there she is sputtering about how, honest, she meant "street clothes", this youngish guy I'm friends with walks over and chimes in, "Damn, I knew getting on a management track required jumping through some hoops, but really?!?!"

Which, in a nutshell, is why I love my job despite how frustrating it can get. My coworkers are a hoot.

welcome to walmart, wtf?, kat is kinda twisted, got crack?, work, possibly spit-take warning
