How to train your Dragon (software) -- it needs remedial training, methinks

Okay, here's my first attempt at dictating to my shiny new Dragon voice-to-type software. Several words I never said and random typos that I tried to correct using Dragon rather than with my keyboard but it's mostly coherent:

Have to train your Dragon deletes or

Hal to train your Dragon.

I tried dragon software when both my shoulders were so bad it was agony to type. And pretty quickly gave up on it when it took more time to correct than it would have taken to write three times as much, as slow as I was writing then. Just wait until you try to do dialogue ... it doesn't 'do' dialogue, in quotes, and sure doesn't recognize slang, etc ... keeps trying to correct everything into sensible grammar.

LOL. This really reminds me of the way Google Voice 'transcribes' voicemails (i.e., very badly).

I've heard that it takes quite a while for the software to adjust to a person's speech patterns. I haven't tried it; I'm way too impatient!

yeah, transcription software is iffy but, the way my arthritis has been flaring lately, it's time to start training my dragon. which is ANNOYING but a necessary evil. ah, well
