So the great apartment hunt of 2010 continues and it could be going a lot worse even if a lot of apartments I'd like to move into are a no-go because they either don't have 1-bedroom units or they don't accept cats. But lots of good possibilities still to be looked into so I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll find a good place here in the next few weeks. Then the "fun" part starts: moving...
So it looks like I will be getting one of the kittens that survived the attack on Heather's barn cat's litter. My choices, these being barncat!spawn are between a Siamese female who attacks feet and does a decent imitation of chewing toes off (seriously, I could feel her teeth through my socks and shoes and little sister has some jaw-strength on her) and a pure black male who treats anything that sits still like a rock-wall for climbing. Something tells me that, either way, Betty (who is aptly named for a rather destructive land-mine) will be quite happy with her new companion/protege.
Also, on "So You Think You Can Dance" just now, Nigel refered to tWitch as "The Airbender" because of the way he moves (we can probably attribute this to the fact that he has like four grandkids) :D I love tWitch (you heard me; a woman whose theme-song could be "White and Nerdy" is not-so-secretly taken with a popping/locking krump dancer whose chosen name-spelling would make my father spin in his grave). I seriously want to vote for Alexie just because she's paired with him...
Random aside. Although I'm loving all the performers so far, Kent from Wapakoneta continues to be an adorable home-town boy with mad skillz and such an adorable degree of humility ("I was Homecoming King in high school but there were 14 of us in my graduating class so that probably doesn't mean much..."). Don't look at me like that for fangirling on the boy. He comes from a lovely town with friendly people (it's the birthplace of Neil Armstrong so, naturally, when my geeky self lived in Fort Wayne, I visited a couple times; the museum was neat:

Got my ergonomic keyboard, finally, so time to get back to checking and responding to LJ notifications (231 of them, yay). This could take a few days, especially with the apartment hunting thing.
My next doctor's appointment is on the 24th and I think I'm going to need to ask either for a higher dose of the trial meds or for something I can take for breakthrough pain (or, rather, something that isn't an opiate because I hate those). Also, of course, I need to find out if I can get on a BP med that won't increase my risk of the c-word by flipping 20% or more. If they insist on keeping me on an ARB, I'm out of the trial and I don't care how much money worth of free meds I'm losing out on. I'm going to have to cash in one of my CDs to pay a year's rent in advance anyway so I can afford (sort of) to eat the cost of pain meds and stomach meds until I have a job.
I think that's everything since the last time I updated. I hope everyone's doing well. Since I could be awhile catching up, if anyone actually needs to get in touch, they'll do better to email me (not really up to IMing yet and, just for the record, it takes time and effort to learn how to use an ergonomic keyboard, lol).
