So, according to a new study performed by Cleveland Clinic doctors and published in the Lancet, my blood-pressure meds increase the risk of cancer. Especially lung cancer. Appropriate icon is appropriate. I don't even know why I bother trying to stay healthy anymore when I'm obviously destined to die horribly like Mom did. If I'm not having side effects from hell in the short-term, I'm increasing my risk of a terrible, shitty death down the road. There is officially no fucking winning.
Seriously, just when I think life is starting to be less anxiety-provoking for me. I think I'm going to spend the next few days contemplating the futility of life while eating insanely unhealthy comfort-foods...
Anyway, to get away from the whiny nature of this post and make it actually something meaningful: if you or anyone you know are on Angiotensin Receptor Antagonists (ARBs like Cozaar, Diovan, Atacand, Avapro, Micardis, Teveten, Benicar, etc. and their generic equivilents) and have a family history of cancer, you may REALLY want to talk to your doctor about getting on something a little less poisonous.
