“I don’t like showing off ne. Even during work, I do what I can calmly. I feel like it’s easier to harness power when I’m being natural. It’s the same for human relationships. “I like singing, dancing and also acting ne. In the first place, I like music because of my parents’ influence. Anyway being in a house where we listen to Western music has resulted in me liking hip hop. That’s why I always want to include hip hop in my concert solos or just anytime. Well, I’ll think about that as I look at the balance of the other members ne. I don’t make unreasonable assertions.
With this meaning, I’m totally not the type who wants to go forward ne. Even if you ask me what I aim for in this world, for example who I want to be like or things like ‘I definitely won’t lose to that guy’, I’m not interested in these stuff at all. Even if there are times when I want to sing such a song, or make such a work. During those times, doing what I really want or what I enjoy is the basics. From now on, I want to remain the same ne.”

New singles are being released in rapid succession, concert preparations are drawing near, and busy days are continuing. Nevertheless, Akanishi Jin’s face is very calm. He’s probably someone who’s skilful at finding happiness in the ordinary. What he treasures is the casualness of everyday.
“I really don’t have any huge desires ne. I like just meeting and talking with my friends, or have fun watching only a movie, and usually it’s like this (laughs). But I think that being able to enjoy such modest things in everyday life is actually the most important. Life is made up of accumulations.
That’s why, no matter how well work went, if your usual self isn’t happy, then I think it’s dreary ne. To describe it more, if you yourself aren’t happy, I think people can’t make you happy. If that person doesn’t laugh from his/her heart, the others watching can’t think of it as fun ne. Even outside of work, from the point where you’re really in bliss, your family, friends, and people you care about can be happy too. Holding the thought that I will do anything for the happiness of the people I cherish, I think I want to become happy myself ne.”
