NCIS Season 1
So I've developed this huge crush on NCIS the show. And have been trying to decide whether I wanted to buy the DVDs for it - because although it's a character-driven show, it's also a crime-solving drama, and you can only watch each episode once while not knowing who did it and where the surprise twists are. I considered non... buying ways of obtaining the series (ahem), but while I could get whole seasons, none of the options had the special features at the end of the DVD, and that was really what I wanted. I love commentary and behind-the-scenes and actors talking about the show - it makes me somehow feel closer to them, and them more real (and wow, way to sound stalkerish). Anyways - so I decided to rent the DVDs first, see if there were specific character interactions I could watch over and over again, and if so I'd go ahead and buy the DVDs.
That was the plan anyway. Then Blockbuster said no sorry we don't carry NCIS, Hollywood Video said sorry we don't carry NCIS, the little hole in the wall video store near my place said sorry we don't carry NCIS.
Clearly I was destined to buy these discs.
I found out there was a Rasputin's near my place (where have you been all my life!? And how have you existed in this location for the past 3 years - which is about how long I've lived here - without me noticing!?!?), bought Season 1 (yes FINALLY!!!), and buckled down to watch.
OMG. Kate? IS SO KICKASS. She has such BALLS in Yankee White when she first meets Gibbs, it's awesome to watch. I never saw that much of her because most of the NCIS on TV are episodes with Ziva, but oh man she is such an amazing character! Plus, Gibbs totally respects her for not cowering/backing down whenever he glares at her or barks orders. Although I've already seen Twilight, so... oh Kate. ::hugs her fiercely::
Also, I've been a firmly established Tony/Tim shipper since I joined this fandom, and Sub Rosa? Was the BEST THING EVER. When I saw the opening credits where Tony was all "Agent McGee blah blah blah," I went "Squee! Tim's in this episode!?!? Rewind and rewatch - oooh I can hear his voice from the other end of the phone!" And he is SO CUTE. They all look so young in the earlier episodes, it is awesome. Plus? Tony TOTALLY can't keep his hands off Tim - that scene where McGee runs up to Gibbs with the paperwork he requested, Tony's totally already straightening Tim's lapels and dusting off his jacket, and this is like the SECOND TIME they've met. Or something. It's hilarious, I was screeching "you have it SO BAD!!!!!!" at the computer on the top of my lungs.
It's been a while since I watched that episode so my reaction's cooled down a bit - but I'm re-watching Season 1 right now (since I don't have Season 2 yet - this must be remedied as soon as possible, I am such an addict), so - I'm so full of GLEE just anticipating watching that episode again XD
