Dad and Lynette are in town this weekend, so Matt and I decided that we needed to go all out for last night's dinner. I woke up at 1PM to the smell of Matt making a shrimp stock out of the shells he'd just peeled off. Ok--so that's the base for our sauce, plus some left-over red sauce and some cream and basil. Two pounds of rigatoni and a pound and a half of shrimp. We're alright by ourselves, Pasquale. We're alright by ourselves. It could've been better (the sauce was a little too thin), but Dad was pleased, and that's what we were shooting for. The fresh basil was key.
We heard that The Alexander House was looking for cooks and servers, so tomorrow Matt and I are both going to apply for kitchen positions. Aside from working in the English Department (which I think is now and forever out of reach), this could be a dream job. It's a block away from my house next year... perfect. Plus it's a way to keep up with my cooking yet avoid spending money on groceries. Winner.
Last night was Steph's party. It was pretty good, but unfortunately, the best part was when people started leaving and like 20 of us took it up to her bedroom. Had a good time talking to the reptile guy about how to handle snakes and why one shouldn't eat bats. Geography majors are some of the better people on this campus, I guess.
I'm reading Einstein's Dreams for 311, and it's cool, because it's more or less a book about time and relativity. It feels like it belongs on my existentialist reading list versus my contemporary fiction one, but whatever. Anyway, here's a real time equation that I figured out last night:
Where I = B1
B1 → ! = : )
B1 + G1 = !
B2 → ! ∴ B2 + G1 ≠ B1 + G1 ∴ B1 + G2
G2 < G1 ∴ G2 = G2
∴ (B2 + G1) / (B1 + G2) = (B1 = : | ) ≠ !
∴ ! = : |
∴ B1 = : | • ∞
...So where's my Nobel for the Relative Infinity of Shit Luck?
