Home in New Jersey. Wish I could say I was more excited to be here, but when all my friends in Massachusetts are going to be there for a few more days before leaving for the semester, and Ame's going to be by herself in the apartment until the 23rd, I'm just... really not.
Things are still just slightly off-kilter with my parents. I feel like I broke something in our typically-really-good relationship and there's just this... slight strain.
Tomorrow we fly to Kansas City, MO to see Mom's side of the family. Saturday is the big gathering. Grandma's not doing well enough to be there, so we'll be visiting her in the nursing home (?) several times over the course of our visit, I'm sure.
Seeing imortlnoctrn (and going to a lesbian GAY apparently bar on Sunday lmao how do those even exist in the midwest) is a bit of silver lining, so at least there's that. Also on Tuesday, we'll be flying home with two more. Two more cats, that is. Grandma's obviously not in a state to care for her cats Bear and Lady (our cat Tiger's brother and sister) anymore so GUESS WHO GETS TO TAKE THEM. Spoiler: it's us. We're going to have five cats. That's... that's a lot of cats. We really don't need five cats. Ahhhhhhhg.
If anyone is at all interested or knows someone who might be interested in two SUPER sweet and loving indoor/outdoor kitties, we are totally open to the idea of finding somewhere else for them to go. S..seriously. They're wonderful cats but god we do not need five cats. :|

December 28th - head down from Amherst to Ridgewood when Ame's off of work. Hopefully see Ridgewood people!
December 29th - city visit, hopefully! Definitely want to do some karaokes for doorknocker_dog's birthday, but would love to see others in the area if possible!
