I made a really good purchase today. I bought Lolita to read with the OB book club. I also found a cute little book I wanted to get for my mom, with lines of Desiderata and cute pictures of babies along with them.
So I get up to the register, and the scruffy unhappy checkout guy takes a look at my two purchases, Lolita and Desiderata: For Baby Lovers, and just says completely deadpan "..these don't go together." It took me a minute to process, but then we all pretty much died laughing. Oh my god. How could I have done that AND NOT NOTICED?! Oh my god, my life. I am officially a pedophile.
