new airport security

Ran across a new tactic at CVG on the way home from the holidays. After handing my ID and boarding pass to the security ticket taker (at the beginning of the line), she did the usual look at the ID. However, instead of just comparing photos, she then proceeded to ask me five different questions about information on my license. Where's my home,

Man, the expiration date? I know mine, because I was idly reading my license while someone checked it, but yeah, that'd probably throw me, too.

The thing is, I'm not sure it's really a useful tactic - not that much of airport security is. It was mostly the unexpected that threw me.
