So I haven't actually read LJ since Thanksgiving. Life has been getting in the way and such. My
brother sounds like he's having a kick ass time out Japan way. I need to buckle down and avoid all sickness and vacation so I can get out there and hang out with him before it's too late. I think I'd need at least a week, preferably 10 days. I'm not sure how he does it - I don't really like traveling internationally where my poor language skills and terrible language education catches up with me. I'll never be an international secret agent. I can't even order cheese in other languages. Except fromage, 'cause that's French, bitch.
I signed up with
Gamefly a while back. The name reminds me of some entrepeneur who said that the only companies worth starting up were those whose domain names hadn't already been taken. In any case, it's like a
Netflix for console games. And it kicks ass. I've played through Indigo Prophecy, The Shadow of the Colossus, and now I've got Psychonauts. And, while I'm glad I didn't buy them, they KICK ASS! Psychonauts it great - a fun mix of hilarity and great game play. Fun platforming with some Legend of Zelda-esque world exploring. I have advanced pyrokinesis. Burn, baby, burn!
I think I've finished my Christmas shopping. I still need to get one of my close friends something, but I'm not sure what. I may have to fall back on board games or something. Everyone likes board games, right? Unless they are complicated, then only a small subset likes them.

Brian and Zach and I have been playing
Heroscape the last month or so. It is just a great game. Sort of a miniatures game for people who hate miniatures gaming rules. Very simple gameplay, very extensible game board (you build it up yourself), and a wide variety of units to control. Each game has been different. My favorite is the Deathwalker 9000! It's very silly and I blew up an entire Massachusetts 4th Line with one shot. :-P
Life is pretty awesome. I've recently gotten
a whole ton of awards in BF2:SF and the damned game is still fun! I reinstalled Alpha Centauri as I was having a great time with Civ 4. I still think Alpha Centauri is better, but now it looks like shit compared with modern games. Game still rocks, though!
Well, what else. Of greatest importance is that Rachel moved in to my house (which is becoming our house). We've got a full house now - 5 people. Cozy. I'm glad I get to cuddle up to her often. Silly.
Anyway, I've rambled enough. I'm having a kick ass time at work, now that Mr. Infection is all gone. Ciao!
