Fun with languages

I'm currently translating some terms/short sentences for a risk analysis software.
The German version was written by Mr. A and we'll simply import the English version/translation and get it all in English.

Problem sentence:
Verletzungen durch Ausgleiten, Ausrutschen und Stürzen auf rutschigen Oberflächen.

Where is the difference between Ausgleiten and Ausrutschen?
Please explain in at least two sentences.

We decided to omit one word for the translation as it's basically the same to us.
Is Ausgleiten just more elegant than Ausrutschen??? It's still going to hurt your ass _._
