Christmas & More

Nov 25, 2012 18:27

Yesterday, Carsten and I went to a local Christmas fair here in Bremen. It took place in hall 4 of the ÖVB-Arena (random facts: The ÖVB-Arena is located next to the main train station in Bremen and consists of the Arena itself and 6 smaller halls. The arena can host up to 16.500 seated guests). Hall 4 is rather smallish, but big enough for single topic fairs such as this one for Christmas (and more).

We went there by car, parked in front of the arena and then suddently went "Are we sure that it is here?". Turned out that we were right by going there on instict, because basically all fairs in Bremen take place there. From where we parked we couldn't even see the entrance to hall 4, as everything was covered by mist. On a bright day our question would have been answered just by looking there, yesterday we had to google it ^^;

So, what was this "Christmas & More"?
Lots of Christmas decorations, some handicraft stalls, a few stalls selling food/drinks (to be used later on), a few stalls selling clothes (including one with real fur; we moved away from the VERY, VERY soft, but politcally not correct mink coat for 3990 € quite fast), then a few shops selling food you could eat right away and that was it, basically.

It took us about two hours to see everything and we had lunch there too. Goulash soup for Carsten and Potato-Leek soup with salmon for me. We also had some waffles later on :-)

This is the reason why we couldn't see the entrance and the sign above it from our parking lot. Most lovely autumn weather...

Then entrance looked like this.

Inside the foyer.

More foyer decorations.

And into the main hall.

This is where we had lunch. I just had to!
It says "♥-ful welcom at T&T to coffee and homemade cake"
Sadly, no T&T there ;_; (I checked and this "T&T" is for "Tisch & Tafel" -> table & dishes)

Our purchases:
A few tiny bottles of liqueur, Baumkuchen pieces, Vanillekipferl, Citrus-Almond-risotto and filled spekulatius (with marzipan and the whole thing is very soft and SUPER delicious)

Close-up of the liquor bottles.
For left to right:

  • Cream-Choco-Chili-Liqueur

  • Sallow thorn liqueur (Sanddorn-Likör)

  • Cream-truffel-liqueur

  • Hazelnut-liqueur

  • Apple-cinnamon-liqueur
  • Chocolate-liqueur

And then there was this crow, which attacked the car it was sitting on. In case you know someone from "WW" (where is that?) who complains about strange marks on the roof of his car, I have proof.

After ina had praised "Ooku" quite some, I watched ep. 1 to 6 this weekend and I can only agree with Ina. It's really good. I like the different approach to the topic in this dorama. The movies I had seen before where alright, but this time I can relate so much more with the characters and their feelings. So far there has been only one episode where I didn't shed at least one tear ^^;;;
