And we go down!

I'll keep posting pics from this summer randomly, as it's just too complicated to get a timeline into anything now. (there are still pics from Kassel, random Schwerin and our honeymoon).

Today, I'll show you a few pics from Sellin again.
They have a diving capsule/gondola (Tauchgondel) there, at the end of the Sellin pier.

The whole thing goes down ALL THE WAY to the bottom of the Baltic Sea (all the 4-5 m).
Inside there is room for about 30 people, everyone gets a seat. Then the door is closed, the gondola sinks, the captain talks about the Baltic Sea and they show you a 3-D movie about the animals living in the Baltic Sea and then you see the daylight again.

The whole thing takes about 40 minutes and is very, very interesting (I've written much more about in German HERE).

You see the shape of an egg shell at the end of the pier? That's the gondola.

This is how it looks from outside when the gondola is on the ground. Part of it is always above sea level, so even in an emergency nobody would get wet, as the emergency exits are at the top.

We're going down, down, down....

Honestly! Get Down!

When you are underwater, you have an AMAZING view. About 30 cm. And you can see AMAZING animals too. Plain, normal jellyfish.

And then you are finished and want to walk back to your car or into Sellin and... oh, right, there were those stairs...
