Uji - 2011-09-27 (late morning)

Oct 19, 2011 22:07

I'll pick up where we left the last time. In the early morning (from around 8 AM) vc_mel and I first visited the Fushimi Inari near Kyoto and from there we took the train to Uji.
Getting there took less than 30 min, but we had planned to visit Nara after Uji AND be back in Kyoto by 4 PM. Which means: not enough time for Uji by far...

I'm not lying here, we really were there for just 1.5 hours ;_;

From the train station we followed all the other tourists in the direction of Byōdō-in.
We got a nice view of the Genji Monogatari Statue and the Uji Bridge.

Uji river.

Then we walked down the road where they sell SO MANY THINGS with green tea.
We kept it at one or two things, I think. So proud!

The end of said road is the entrance gate to Byōdō-in.

Phoenix Hall

And Phoenix Hall from another angle.

Once more in bigger ^^;;;

And around the corner.
As mentioned before we were lacking time, so we didn't take part in the tour to see what's inside (which I think must be quite amazing!)

We walked back to the station and took some pictures of Uji river instead...

And from there we took the train to Nara (where dangerous biting deer were waiting for us _._ )
