SGA Vegas thought

Thanks to Kristen, I was in a John mood this morning, so...Vegas. That led to musing about how the expedition got tangled up with the Wraith in that universe. In main universe, John's gene triggers a device on the necklace that he finds and gives to Teyla, alerting the Wraith to their presence. Then, later, John kills the Wraith Queen, waking all the Wraith in Pegasus.

So, with John out of the equation, what happened? Did someone else wake them up? Did they simply cross paths eventually while the expedition explored? Etc.
