While Easter is irrvocably bound with Indiana Jones, Christmas will forever be a Batman holiday to me.
Now, this is one of my all time favorite 'couples'. In these very incarnations. I have no love for any other; I am a traditional girl at heart. Selina and Bruce, Catwoman and Batman, there is a tragic, heartbreaking, gritty perfection about them, bats and cats, both night's creatures, companions in a weird way, their status as ennemies who so clearly belong together but can't really have a happily ever after. I've always had a weak spot for such scenarios.
And as much as I love Christian Bale, as much as I admire him as Batman, as much as I'm impressed by Nolan's adaptions so far, contrary to many people I do not look forward to The Dark Knight Rises.
Frankly, if for some reason you haven't seen Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns, do yourself a favour and watch them.
