Official Daytime Emmy nominations are out! Golden Globes? Pfft. Oscars? Feh. THESE are my Oscars. (The ones I want to win are italicized)

Uhh, Kelly Monaco? Lead? Wins "Dancing with the Stars" and suddenly she's lead material? You gotta be kidding me. I'm kinda surprised that Bobbie Eakes got a nom. Not that she isn't good enough for one, it's just that her character is largely unsympathetic and AMC's writing this past year has been for shit. So good for her that the voters were able to see past all that. But I want Beth to win because I've always liked Harley.

Glaring, breathing heavily and throwing barware are not Emmy-worthy. If he wins, I'm going to want to shoot him in the head. Too bad I can't do it while he's giving birth. That would be sweet revenge. I'm pulling for Thorsten in this one. I begrudgingly admit that Zach has grown on me -- quite a feat, considering how much I hated him on OLTL.

I really do hope she wins but if not, I'm glad her competition isn't anybody that would cause an aneurysm for me if they won. *cough* natalia livingston *cough* And I know every year I pitch a fit that Alicia Minshew didn't get nominated but I'm not really surprised or all that disappointed this year. She just didn't have the material. Not her fault. Same sentiment for Rebecca Budig, though I am surprised she didn't get nommed, considering this was her last year and you know how they love to give going-away presents.

No problems with any of these except my usual outrage that GH is ever nominated for ANYTHING. Ugh.
Summary comments? Wow, lots of GL noms. That's pretty much it. ATWT has noms in all the right places. no DAYS or Passions noms (makes you wonder if NBC's considering shit-canning their whole daytime lineup), light GH noms (though the few that they have are just ridiculous), deservedly-so light AMC noms (man that show sucked this past year). CBS is doing real good. All the good soaps are on that network.
