Hello. I will be attempting to bring livejournal back into my life again for about the 8 or 9th time. It's just that every now and then things happen that I feel like I'll want to remember. Like today for instance. My most anticipated moment of the week occured this afternoon....allergy testing! For those of you who haven't seen me around dogs or cats or willoughby, you haven't witnessed my eyes, nose, ears, and throat inflamming themselves and emiting slimyness all over the place. It's like watching sappy love story movies 24/7, I'm a weepy mess. Anyway, so here I am, having gone through 21 yrs. of torcher...tourcher?....whatever, and finally seeking relief. So I got there, got all checked in and stuff. The doctor comes and talks to me. He was SUCH a mumbler. Omg, it was nuts. I think he just tried to talk really fast but it did not work. I mumble sometimes too when I'm nervous but I've never seen a confidant mumbler like this guy. Super nice and friendly, just a big time mumbler. Well anyhoo, so I told him of my miseries and he took a bunch of notes. Then it was off to the testing room. 32 needles, 32 different allergens. They poke you with all 32 at the same time and you sit in another room for 20 minutes while your body freaks out. After about oh, 30 seconds my arms were burning and itching like crazy but you can scratch because you might cause redness over an area that your not really having a reaction to. It sucked a whole bunch. After like 15 minutes I had about 20 or so bumps all over my arms and a whole lotta redness. The nurse came in finally and was like "oooh great". Ummm. Then the doctor came in and was like, "well, you weren't kidding were you"? I don't remember anything I said because I just wanted to itch. So they pumped me with antihistamines which I'd been dying to get back in my system because I wasn't allowed to have them for 5 days previous to my appointment. The nurse was rubbing this ointment on me and she's like "you're arms are so hot". haha, so basically I'm an allergic mess. The ones I remember are ragweed, pollen, dustmites, cats, dogs, about 5 different trees, another 5 or so different bushes...life basically. And apparantly oak tress are my worse enemy, good thing I live in ohio. So if you every want to spite me just wave a cat and an oak leave in my face. It's about 3 hours after they initially stabbed me and I still have little bumps on my arms. I'll be starting allergy shots upon my return to the states in august, thank goodness.
I had coffee with andreana today. She's always so plesant. We decided that we need to storm the willoughby and cleveland bars this summer so horay for that. We start June 8th at Micks for her 21st. It looks like I might actually have a life this summer so that's good. I recruited Jenna to be my baby shower gift expert, she knows a thing or two about tots. She's lived with them all her life. So she'll help me buy a gift for Val. Baby shower on Sunday. I'm kind of excited but also a little weirded out. I can't believe I know people who are married and are having children. I'm getting so old.
23 more days till Europe! My lab supervisor told me today that he's taking me to Zurich! woo! Well, Justina the fish tank and I have plans to get crunk tonight so I gotta go. peace.
