It's pretty sad to have to come back on LJ to say this, but as things have gotten so wacky, and I guess that I have to make it official.........

Please, Please,  P-L-E-A-S-E DO NOT cross-post *anything* from my LJ to your Facebook/Twitter pages, ***including comments.***   And, (I can't believe I'm having to type this...it makes me sounds like ( Read more... )

They are clearly looking to the less-responsible-teenager subset as their target user group! I find that the need to widely publicise comments and the intimate minutiae of one's life in general is inversely proportionate to the intelligence quotient of those comments /snarky

ITA on most of your post; there is a reason why my Failbook account has been dormant for 2 years (and I cannot understand Twitter in principle) - even though I hardly make personal posts on LJ either (with two exceptions so far), I find my LJ persona to be a much more accurate reflection of the real me, and prefer it when it is entirely up to me whether I choose to disclose my name or personal details with people of my choosing whom I got to know on LJ thanks to common interests and/or interesting conversations and not someone random I happened to run into at a stupid party who I could not bring myself to refuse to friend on Failbook.

My only "objection", bizarrely, is to your dislike of scheduling phone calls. I've done it and do not see anything wrong with it if it is a long or serious call, as it gives both parties a chance to choose a time when they can talk relatively undisturbed. Maybe it comes from my having been through quite a few business conference calls that are always scheduled in advance... IDK.

But in any case, I've added the same "no FB/Twitter" request to the index post on my page. I do not imagine sensible people doing it, and it will not stop non-sensible people, but whatevs.

Hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the painting!
