Yesterday on the way to the fancy mall we drove down next to the c&o canal and got to see the locks that were built in the 1800s, drove past the iwo jima memorial, arlington national cemetery, the airforce memorial, and accidentally ended up in the parking lot of the pentagon.
today we had lunch at B.Smiths. A fancy pants soul food restaurant in what used to be the Preident's suite of Union Station. It is historically accurate with the exception of having a restaurant instead of a waiting area in it. and come on, a fancy soul food restaurant. it was fabulous.
this area is really neat sometimes.
