1. Turns out the math placement test I've been freaking out about?  I don't have take it.  Whoever told me I did is getting my foot up their ass for Christmas.  But yay!  No math test!

2. Scheduling classes suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked this semester, because basically everything was at the same time.  We spent half of class in photography talking about it.  Then my painting professor, who helps organize the schedules, apologized to everyone and promised it wouldn't happen again.

3. Class schedule for next semester:

Mon/Wed
Stage Makeup  3:30-5:20

Tues/Thurs
Contemporary Math 8-9:15
Intermediate Printmaking 11-1:50
Intermediate Painting 2-4:50

4. I've decided I really don't like the Devil Wears Prada.  I do think there's a point where you can put too much into your work at the expense of your friends and family, so I get the overall message they were going for, but I hated how they did it.  First, Andy's boyfriend is a total dick.  He had a right to be mad she missed his birthday when she's made a committment to be there, but instead of being angry for the thing he had a right to be angry about he told her he wouldn't care what she did if she was doing it with a little integrity.  Then he says that she used to rag on the girls at Runway and doesn't anymore, implying he thinks 'with integrity' means being a bitch behind other people's back instead of respecting them for their hard work.  And the scene with her friends keeping her phone away from her when her boss was calling pissed me off because OMG OF COURSE SHE GOT MADE AT YOU YOU IDIOTS!  Are they twelve?  That was so disrespectful, but no, Andy's the bitch for being pissed at them.  And then at the end, the final straw that makes her leave is Miranda telling her what she did to Emily was like what she did to Nigel, which, huh?  Emily was injured and couldn't do the trip, so Andy stepped in because Miranda had to have an assistant and Emily wasn't capable of completing that job during a tour in Paris with a broken ankle.  Miranda promised Nigel the promotion of a lifetime and then gave it to someone else to save her own ass.  HOW DOES THAT COMPARISON MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL?

So basically, Andy wasn't perfect and certainly screwed up but I felt like the movie was punishing her for learning to be good and take pride in a very demanding job, and everybody else just shits on her the entire movie and never apologizes for a damn thing but expects her too all the time and just...bah.  FX needs to stop running that movie, I can only throw my remote at the TV so many times before it breaks.

gender fail, rl
