1. Starting next Friday I will be a permanent employee of National Research Corporation. The job itself is marginally less boring now that I've been put into enough workpools to have some variety, but the work is never going to be my favorite. The reason I went for permanent employment (aside from a salary increase (double digits for the first time!) and, you know, it's permanent) is the people I work with. First, I actually know a couple people outside work. Kathy, who's son I went to school with and who sings in my mom's choir, and Lora, who I went to college with. And everyone is so nice! After my interview, one of my supervisors told me that pretty much everyone put in a good word for me and they all were hoping I would apply. And when Head Of Department Lady was telling me she was going to send me the written offer last night before she left (she didn't, but they're horrifically busy right now so I'm not upset, I already know most of it anyway) she said something to the effect of "It's about time". They love me. They really love me.
2. Nikita!!
- I loved the moment were Michael and Nikita were having this super touching moment, and then Birkhoff is like, please turn off your comms, kthanx.
- Nikita with kids is the most adorable thing every, yes?
- Michael has a secret!kid that he doesn't know about and now Nikita is lying to him about...I don't love it, but I'm not against it either. I will wait to see what they do with it before I judge. I think the fact that this is so relevant to Michael's past keeps it from feeling to soap opera, for now at least.
- Sean is one BAMF.
- I love him and Alex working together. They had a nice dynamic. They still don't really trust or 100% like each other, but they're not circling each other with guns raised anymore either. I think they've both seen something worthwhile in the other.
I have more thoughts, but I also need to shower and get out the door in about 15 minutes, so maybe later...
