1. Pre--op physical was yesterday. I'm healthy as can be aside from maybe having cancer. Also, I've only gained, like, a pound since the summer. I thought it would be a lot more. Yay.
2. Finished Torchwood: Children of Earth last night. Excuse my while I go slit my wrists.
But in seriousness, I thought the short, highly serialized season format worked very well. It was so fucking creepy. You know who's death made me roll my eyes (I don't know who hasn't seen it and I'm too lazy to do a spoiler cut, so we're going with you know who, and you know I don't mean Voldemorte). Gee, Jack, you just said no to a bunch of aliens who said they'd wipe out your race if you said no, and you're surprised when people start to die? I mean, go for it if you're going to go for it, it's not like the alternative was much better, there were no good choices. But stick with it man, don't act all surprised. I can appreciate that main cast characters don't have ridiculous plot armor, but still. That was just weak.
Overall, there were two scenes that made the story for me, above everything else. The first episode, with the children chanting for the first time (Gwen's "Oh my god?" made me laugh long and hard...I may have repeated that a few times...but mostly everything else about it was creepy), and the scene where Ianto's brother in law gets the parents to start rioting as the children are being taken. Seeing sweet little Andy join in just about made me cry for some reason. Although, I get the symbolism of him striping off his uniform before joining the fight, but I'm thinking keeping the body armor might have been a smarter idea.
"We are coming. Back." I have to go hide behind a couch now.
3. I just realized I left my phone at home. AGAIN. But at least today I'm not supposed to call for a ride when my class ends after the last bus has already stopped.
4. And speaking of classes, I'm done going. I still have to write one more paper, and I have to label some drawings I did and turn them in. But I should be able to get all that done by Saturday. Then I'm thinking I should clean. No one wants to come home after surgery to a pig sty.
ETA: 5.
She hasn't made an announcement, but doesn't Evangeline Lilly look kind of pregnant?
