Who thoughts

I had a thought, but I am so new to Who (heh) that I'm not sure I completely grasp the shows rules, so I may be completely off.

OK, so in the season 1 finale, Rose absorbs the time vortex, and that's why she's able to turn all the Daleks to dust and bring back Jack (and make him immortal on accident).

So, when the Doctor said Amy grew up with a time crack in her wall, and the whole of the universe pouring into her head, isn't that kind of the same thing?  Or at least related?  And that's why she's able to wish back all of these people that were erased?  I know it's not the exact same thing, but it seems related to me.  It's not the whole of time, so she's not as powerful (and isn't going to die from it), but there's enough there to give her just a little bit of influence on reality.  In which case, will she continue to be able to do things?

Like, say, bring River back from the library?  OK, I'm not really expecting that, but that may just become my head canon.

But really, I'm hoping they continue some of those threads.  And with Rory, you could just hear him telling someone at the wedding that he was plastic, so he clearly remembers at least some of that.  Which means he has almost 2,000 years of memories now.  And yeah, they're from a world that didn't have stars so it's not like he's an atlas of the world, but I do hope that experience factors in to his characterization.

I'm up to 3x08 in my chronological viewing of DW.  So far I haven't met a companion I didn't like.  I'm enjoying Martha quite a bit.  There's a certain amount of "Oh, of course she likes the Doctor", but it's not bad enough to turn me off her.  And I love her jacket.
