Dennis was sick all weekend. Started out as allergies. Then moved to congestion. Then he had drainage. This irritated his throat and caused a cough. I went to the pharmacy to get him some drugs. Got carded to buy Mucinex. At least it seemed to help some. At least, he was able to sleep through the night and didn't wake up coughing until this morning. He said that it seems that other people where he work seem to have the same malady. I hope I don't end up getting whatever it is.
I pulled out my violin for the first time in years yesterday. It was *way* out of tune. I barely remember how to play it at all. I'd also forgotten how loud it can get. I might have to go hide in the attic or basement when I play so I don't annoy Dennis and the neighbors. I went to mom's house on Sunday to get my clarinet, but couldn't find it. When I mentioned it to her on Saturday, she said that she had thrown it out because it was all mildewy. Much sadness. Might have to see if I can find another one.
My cousin got a dog. A Lhasa Apso named Wiggles. He's ridiculously cute and teddy bear-like. I would love to get my mom a dog. I think she'd appreciate the company. On the other hand, a dog takes a lot of work, and I doubt she'd put the necessary effort into it. A cat would probably be better. Also makes me want a dog, but again, work. Actually, not so much the work. That, I'm willing to do. It's the associated travel hassle. With cats, when you're gone for a weekend, you just leave them extra food and top off their water, clean the litter boxes before you go, and you can enjoy yourself for a few days worry-free. Hell, up to a week, even. Can't do that with a dog. Need to arrange care n such. Hrms... perhaps if I get a dog, then have my mom watch it for me when I go on my little trips... best of both worlds? Perhaps I will ponder this. The cats would hate me forever though.
