Summary: Wilson breaks his own rules.

“Did you know our Aussie was in the Seminary?” House asked, dishing out the chow mein. “Real life altar boy.”

Wilson had known even before the nun showed up, and sometimes wished he didn’t. He’d broken his own rule about getting close to House’s fellows because Chase so clearly needed someone to talk to. Now Wilson was stuck with the image of Chase in vestments, on his knees, receiving communion…

Wilson could only imagine the abuse he’d be subjected to if House ever found out about his fantasy.

Especially if he knew what Wilson did while he was having it.

“In the sleep lab?”

Wilson struggled to keep anything but prurient interest out of his voice. Make it sound like any other titillating tidbit he and House might discuss. Tranny nurses, surgically enhanced schoolteachers, over-sexed fellows. No difference.

Never mind that this was his Chase, and while Wilson’s fantasies had progressed far beyond merely observing religious rituals, he didn’t like the idea of Chase screwing around, certainly not with her.

Maybe one part of him did. A little bit too much.

He grabbed a pager that hadn’t gone off and waved it in House’s face, as he made his escape.

“Emergency.”

*****

“Why are you here?”

“Because you need me.”

He needed someone. Not for sex, much as he could imagine House laughing at the idea. Amber was gone, and Wilson’s grief had overwhelmed the friends who’d initially clustered around to offer comfort.

Except for Chase.

Chase was here, like some kind of an angel, to cook for him, listen to his stories and eventually hold him through the worst of the memories and loneliness.

“You know I used to think of you…that way.”

Chase smiled and nodded before placing kiss on Wilson’s forehead that wasn’t quite a promise.

“You still can.”
