Sunday at the Mint...
WAS DYKE-TASTIC!
Great Post-Pride Parade vibe, but actually not as crowded as I would have expected.
When I got there at 330PM-ish, I hung out with Sebastian, Todd, Vince, Daniel etc, but by about 630PM, it was 90% women and they were either lesbians or Bi-For-A-Day. (Kind of like being Irish on St. Patricks.)
The image that sums the whole thing up for me was my friend Angie on stage singing "What's Up" and
the entire bar singing along to the "Hey, Hey, Hey" part and waving their arms in the air.
I managed to get in four songs:
One Night In Bangkok-Murray Head
Redemption Song-Bob Marley
You'll Never Walk Alone-Gerry and the Pacemakers.
Rock DJ-Robbie Williams.
I also aquired two new LJ friends, one of whom is also and old Mint buddy, the other encountered when some one saw me writing and asked what was up and I uttered the fateful words: Do you know what fanfic is?
