There was a very interesting study over here recently. A large sample of people found that they could lower their blood pressure just by listening to soothing instrumental music for half an hour each day. You can't do anything else while you're listening to it, so I suppose it's a little like meditation. They recommended the instrumental celtic music as particularly good.
How is he stopping you? I will come there and pummel him on your behalf. Confidential is sometimes better than the show itself. David's accent for crying out loud!!!
I didn't see Olbermann's commentary, so I can't speak to that, but here's the problem with what Clinton said: she mentioned assassination in the context of running against someone who is a higher than usual assassination risk. At BEST, it was a jaw-droppingly stupid thing to say. I do buy that it was a slip-up, don't get me wrong, but even so, some people had a really strong, visceral reaction to the unintentional implication.
I had a friend mention just the other night that Barrowman looks like Tom Cruise. This had honestly never occurred to me. But then, I've never paid much attention to Cruise's looks and I have a terrible memory for faces. I wouldn't necessarily bet on me being able to pick him out of a crowd of men with similar build and coloring.
The Tom Cruise comparison comes up ALL THE TIME, but I think John is a million times better looking, aside from being sane and out.
I realize that Hillary's comment hit some people the wrong way, but: (from CNN.Com)
Friday night, Kennedy's son, Robert Kennedy, Jr., released a statement that said he understands the point Clinton was making and said it would be a mistake to be offended.
"I have heard her make this reference before, also citing her husband's 1992 race, both of which were hard-fought through June," he said. "I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense."
The special comments might be on YouTube if you want to see just how over-the-top Keith was last night. And again..I love Keith. I slash Keith. I'd do Keith. But last night, not so much.
For me, it's more a case of I seriously cannot believe she said that. And I cannot believe she said it more than once. I mean, yes, it is absolutely a very memorable case of going into June, but it's also stunningly inappropriate. Just a really bad judgment call on her part, and the latest in a series, at that. And mine is one of the milder reactions I've heard since yesterday.
