Happy Miracle Day to my US Torchies! (Come and share the LOVE)
We're finally here. Nearly two years to the day. It's been a lot of ups and downs and hopes and fears, but what John Barrowman said at San Diego Comic Con 2009 has come to be: Bigger and Better than Ever.
A lot of people have gotten to see the first episode by now, either through the previews or the streaming last night and I'm so happy to see the LOVE out there. When you live in LJ land, it's sometimes possible to believe that all the doomy-gloomy, RTD-hating Naysayers are the Vox Populi. It's so good to hear other voices. Last night the LOVE was all over Tumblr and the folks I met at the preview on Tuesday were all pro-RTD, pro-Barrowman and pro-Torchwood. Period. None of this: That's not MY Torchwood because it doesn't have ........ (fill in the blank with sets, characters, cities or pterydactls of your choice.)
Just pure joy and happiness.
I won't spoil those of you who've managed to steer clear thus far, but for me the whole first episode was one massive squeeeeeee and I look forward to an explosion of joy tonight from sea to shining sea and anywhere else someone can get hold of it. (None USA folks, trust me, it will be worth the wait.)
