Yuletide 2016 Reveals

Dec 31, 2016 17:54

It was a pretty productive yuletide! I wrote some longish, weirdo things that I'm really quite happy with - not everyone's cup of tea, but I had a lot of fun stretching as a writer this year. Also, my fandoms are Obvious McObvious.

Iain M. Banks - The Culture

WHY DO I EVEN PRETEND TO ANON, I DON'T KNOW.

Ever-Everland (8843 words, M for asphyxiation)
Reverse soulbond mindfuckery non-Special Circumstances life-romping. Er, I never said I was good at summaries.

Heike Monogatari/Tale of Heike

As Above, So Below (6583 words)
The Genpei War (or, er, a little bit of it, and, er, not actually the war itself) in space. That's right. Because one must always read bungo in order to punt characters into stellar conflict. (On that note, I'm amazed my own DW already has a tag "classics in space.")

Vorkosigan Saga

High Fidelity (3070 words)
Simon and Aral clue each other in about Jole.

昭和元禄落語心中 | Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu

A country with no mirrors (3601 words, E for intercrural adventures)
Kikuhiko lets Sukeroku get to him. Or: what happens when K is allowed to translate anything, ever.

Cheese

and then the cracky gouda answer questions - written with Fram, Kat and Tana - that is just... IDEK man. Cheese. Cheesey?

yuletide, classics in space, fic: tale of heike, fic: rakugo, fic: the culture, fic: vorkosigan saga
