Dreaming, again

Ever have a series of dreams that are similar, but have a continuity to them?

Recently I've dreamt I was in a sort of high school, though it was more like a multi-level mall. There's a food court on at least the 13th and 8th floors, and a parking structure under the school that is at least three levels deep. Various people I knew in high school populate this school, as well as some people around Portland.

There are two elevators, though the one on the left has been out of order for some time. The other elevator has been increasingly wonky as well. When the dreams started, it was normal. Two nights ago it wouldn't stop even with the floor, usually stopping four to six inches lower, but was otherwise normal. Last night, it was swinging back and forth, in addition to not being level with the floor. I cautiously stepped in anyway, and almost instantly regretted it. The elevator was circular, and as I tried to stop the doors closing so I could get out and take the stairs, it started rotating while swinging. The other people thought it was fun. I realized it meant the elevator was no longer touching the walls of the shaft, and hence had no emergency breaking system. My destination was the 8th floor, but for some reason we went to the 13th first. I got out and two others got in. I thought Portland-Andy had stayed in, but after the doors closed he said something about using his phone to create a hologram of him sitting on the floor of the elevator. I vowed to take the stairs until the elevators were fixed.

I was hungry, so I went to the food-shop (I can't think of a better name for it) and was looking around for what I might like to purchase. The woman behind the counter seemed only able to communicate in different inflections of the word "Hey!" "Hey!" she said from her stool as I looked at the hot dogs, startling me. "I'd like to buy some food ..." "Hey?" "I think I'll have two hot dogs." "Hey..?" "Yeah, a small Coke." "Hey." "Thanks." and I sat near some people on some steps to eat my lunch.

Later (or earlier?) in the parking garage I saw someone from D'Evelyn, a cute blonde named Lana (I don't remember her last time). I said "Hi, Lana." She responded similarly, but drew my name out, "Hi ... Jay-ames" as if she was trying to remember who I was (not terribly surprising)

Perhaps tonight I'll actually walk up eight flights of stairs to get to my classes on the 8th floor ... or maybe the elevator will be fixed.
