Saturday Mornings have gotten very Strange

Mar 04, 2006 10:03

I remember when I was younger waking up early on Saturdays to watch cartoons. I was thrilled when Road Roavers and Freakazoid! were on KidsWB. Then they implemented "Big Kids Go First" on Saturdays and put those shows on earlier than I found myself waking up ... so that by the time I woke up the only cartoons on were Pokemon and something similar.

I stopped watching cartoons on Saturdays after that, save for the rare occasions when my Friday nights would last that long.

This morning rogueonca had to wake up early to go talk with a guy about a horse, or something* so we were up at 9. Channel surfing I see the newest incarnation of Bugs & the gang is on ... Loonatics Unleashed, or somesuch. Having never watched it I gave it a shot. Remember when the media blitz was on for this before it came out, and everyone was saying it will be crap? It is crap. They did manage to work in the bit where Bugs and another character are saying "Are not!" "Are too!" back and forth, then Bugs switches and the other character switches also. I never really understood why that worked, and in this instance it was forced.

Anyway, I also noticed a show called "Bibleman" was on. It sounded odd enough to possibly be entertaining, and started 10 min ago. I haven't actually watched it, as I've been writing this since I saw the words "Written by Willie Aames" Apparently he also stars in the title role ...

Saturday mornings have become very strange indeed

* - It was actually to talk with someone in the English department at Mount Hood Community College about their progams, specifically Latin, I believe.
