Thursday detailed
So, aside from the server trouble at work, which dominated most of my day, There was one other incident that added to the craptacular day.
As Arthur, Rojzik and I were about to head to lunch, Howard calls and asks me to make sure the cieling tiles in the server room are where they should be, since there's apparently a fire inspection about to happen. So I'm rushing to get that done and not hold up Arthur and Rojzik. Instead of getting the ladder, I decide to just use a chair because I only need about that much height, plus a char is faster. Unfortunately, I went about getting a chair in the most ass way possible (that phrase has been in my head for days! Good to finally get it out ...)
The chair I grabbed was the one closest to the ceiling tile that was out of place: a rolling office chair. Even as I started to step onto it, I realized how idiotic this was. About three years ago an aquaintance was doing something similar, fell and broke his arm. A moment after stepping onto the chair, it became readily apparent why this was a stupid action. The revelation came to me just before I hit the floor. So I got up, righted the chair and ... didn't try again. I got a stationary chair and tried again. Worked much better that time.
Then went to lunch with a bruised right arm and hip..
And now I have a slight headache ...
Though, playing the Evil Genius demo was fun ^_^
