I haven't posted about my 2010 reading since February, so it's about time to update! I've been reading pretty much non-stop this year. If all I have time to read is a page or two, then that's what I've done. The things that I've been reading have been varied. I've read fluffy fiction stuff and award winning literature.
(
The first titles I've already posted... )
I love books but find a hard time enjoying actually reading them. I can't get "lost" in a book easily anymore. I just read the Bree Tanner book. Good, but the 1st person point of view is starting to get to me. B/C what appears happened in the end makes the whole first person thing not work for me:(
Here are some close-ups (of course, I've rearranged some since, but that's what I do during summer break!)
Education/teaching books
Philosophy-related books
Top shelf: Billy's Terry Pratchett books, Shakespeare, and Ayn Rand books juxtaposed with Russian language books and The Naked Communist (which, of course, I've never read) just to spite her:)
Next shelf: parenting-related books
Vampire books, books I still intend on reading, books I really liked:
Our built-in in the living room. I just painted the back of the shelves "Gypsy Teal" and rearranged things.
and Nathan's built-in (I'm afraid I'm making him into a clutter-bug like myself. But if he's cluttery with books, I'm okay with that!)

I've said for a long time that I want to live in a house made of books and sleep in a bed of poetry! I just wish I had time to read all the books I want to!

This is where my most recent reads are living, and I just stick them in any old way. Mostly spiritual stuff, and my pretty things I like to see often.
Here the upper 3/5ths of the bookshelf- On shelves 4 and 5 are education books, music methods, scores, and other hard-to-part-with memorabilia. I'm not moving the crib for a picture of that, though.
Now, I realise the pic quality is poo, I can't find my good camera and used the webcam. But you may find some titles that look vaguely familiar if you look at your own shelf, and squint :D Others, I would be happy to point out, if curiosity goes that way.

Love the shelves. I do recognize some of those spines! The only books I keep on the beside are ones that I am reading right then. I have some weird rule about not keeping them there long because I spilled a Dr. Pepper in college from my nightstand and ruined a beloved book. Makes me sad just thinking about it.
