The art of making
The act of creating is a type of art.
It is a wonderful experience to take raw components of a thing and create something from them. It is even better when the creation turns out well. The ability to create remains one of the things I find to be most attractive, and indeed even a most important part of my life.
While I lack the ability to draw and paint (talents that I respect immensely) I am not unskilled in other areas.
Today I put my talents to good use. I made Chocolate truffles. While they did not turn out perfect, I learned a good deal making them and I think the next batch will be even better. The do taste wonderful, though they are ever so rich.
I also made from scratch a pasta sauce which was then built in to a lasagna.
While neither will last long, the process of making them was very fulfilling.
I look forward to they day I can make these things for the person that was my inspiration.
